Do you think you could come by my office after your last lesson of the day? Two of your Slytherins, Daphne Greengrass and Blaise Zabini, have asked to meet with me to discuss some kind threat that Miss Greengrass is facing from Barnabas Bole. They implied that they'd like to have you there as well, and I share their sentiment. I wouldn't want to advise them in any way without their Head of House's input.
I don't suppose that we might issue a school-wide ban on dating next year? I've had enough of dealing with student's romantic issues to last three lifetimes, I think.

Date: 2012-05-14 07:15 pm (UTC)I do think it's best we all discuss the situation and come to an equitable arrangement. I expect I shall wish for your assistance with Mr Bole, as well, when the time comes to once again impress upon him that his behaviour toward Miss Greengrass--and Miss Gamp, for that matter--is wholly unacceptable.

Date: 2012-05-14 07:21 pm (UTC)Yes, I gather that what's been going on is dead serious, to the extent that banning dating would probably not solve the matter (not that I was seriously suggesting we do as much).
And of course you will have my full cooperation when it comes to making an impression upon Mr Bole.
See you in a bit, good sir.

Date: 2012-05-14 07:49 pm (UTC)In this case, I am at least gratified that the young people are seeking the aid and counsel of their elders. Too often, as you know, they try to resolve their problems entirely on their own. While I appreciate it in the abstract, for matters that really don't require the intervention of an adult, there are too many times when they do not even realise they are in over their own heads!
Luckily enough, as it's NEWTs week, I have no lessons in my final period. I'll come upstairs directly.
