In my experience, a man's mind can change, grow sharper, more calculating, or duller if he drowns himself in vice... but the very heart and core of a person will always stay the same. Oh, it might try to steer a different course for a time, but that will end in folly. The passionate heart always yearns, and the cold heart steels itself in ice.
